Our Approach: Your House of Marriage
The marriage you are about to embark on can be likened to building a new house, and your possession date is the one that's listed on your wedding invitations. The time between now and your "move-in date" is an invaluable time for you as a couple to evaluate what kind of house you're building in terms of:
The title deed - How ready are you to be married?
Your foundation - How much trust have you built together? How secure do you feel in each other? How central is Jesus Christ in your relationship?
Your walls - What are the values that will hold up your marriage? What beliefs about marriage do you have that will protect it from the "winds of adversity"?
Your furnishings - What kind of behaviours do you practice towards each other that are visible to those around you? Is there a habit or an "ugly couch" that you have on display in your marriage that needs to be remodeled?

Our Approach: Your House of Marriage
Before moving to your new house is the best time to take a good look at what kind of house you're building. It's easier to change any of these things, your foundation, your walls, or your furnishings of your house of marriage before you live in it.
The engagement period is not traditionally the smoothest stage in a relationship, but we believe is one of the most important phases. We like to plan for 4 to 6 sessions with each couple, ranging from 2 to 3 hours each.

Range of Topics
We cater our sessions specifically to the couple we are coaching. Each "two-on-two" session is based on your questions and needs. We most often start with a worksheet for each session, but where the session ends up is different every time. We feel these coaching times are successful only when you can walk away with more confidence in your skills and ability to better your "house of marriage."
Possible topics can include:
- Building trust and security,
- The ideas of honor and increase,
- Communication tools and principles,
- Resolving conflict with class,
- Everything you wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask, and
- Anything else you need to discover or discuss about marriage.

What's the Cost
Marriage Coaching is our ministry, and is charged on an honorarium-based system. Usually, we spend 12 to 20 hours individually with each couple we coach, so we recommend an honorarium of $200, payable at the last session.
Marriage Officiating
We do this too! This is something we love to do together - Rowan performs the ceremony, and Mara orchestrates the rehearsal and paperwork details. We excel at making your ceremony memorable for you and your guests! Formal, but casual is our specialty. We charge $100 to $200 for this service, payable at the rehearsal.
